University research results have had a very positive impact on the
Quebec economy. That's why the commercialization division of VRQ
aims to provide university institutions (universities, hospital
centres and affiliates institutes) with the financial means to promote
and commercialize their research results by financially supporting
companies owned by the universities.

Economic Development (CED)
Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions emphasizes innovation in order to fully implement its mandate, which is to promote the economic development of Quebec regions. Over the last few years, Canada Economic Development has significantly increased the proportion of financial aid it allocates to innovation-related projects, enabling it to reach its objectives and commitments in the face of this national priority.
Hexagram
Hexagram was born of the Quebec government's desire to consolidate
Montreal's international strategic positioning in the media arts
and technologies sector. Counting on the growing collaboration between
industry and its 60 artist/researchers from Concordia University
and Université du Québec à Montréal, Hexagram is moving to help
Montreal become a major world centre for research and creation in
the field of media arts.

CANMET
Energy Technology Centre - Ottawa (CETC-O) The
CANMET Energy Technology Centre - Ottawa (CETC-O) is a key research
arm of Natural Resources Canada and is one of Canada's premier organizations
in the field of energy, science and technology. CETC-O works with
private and public sector partners to develop and deploy leading-edge
energy products. The result of these technologies is reduction of
environmental impacts, increased productivity and generated economic
growth in Canada.

québécois de valorisation des biotechnologies - CQVB
The CQVB is a key actor at the start of the commercialization process.
Through its network, the CQVB has a mandate to encourage innovation
among Quebec SMEs in the bio-industry sector and to support the
development and transfer of technologies resulting from research,
in order to generate new sources of collective wealth. The CQVB
is a general partner of the Bio-innovation Fund, which offers Quebec
companies in the bio-industry field, risk capital to help them in
the initial stage of technological innovation and development.

Idea
to Innovation (I2I) Program
The role of the NSERC is to invest in people,
discovery and innovation for the benefit of all Canadians. The objective
of the Idea to Innovation (I2I) program is to accelerate the pre-competitive
development of promising technology and promote its transfer to
Canadian companies. The program supports research and development
projects with recognized technology transfer potential by providing
crucial assistance to university researchers in the early stages
of technology validation and commercial networking.
Ministère
de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec -
MAPAQ MAPAQ, the Quebec ministry of agriculture,
fisheries and foods, has revised its offer of services to support
aquaculture. It aims to develop this activity sector, banking on
the emergence of an industrial sector able to supply quality products
and on the use of technology for both commercial and sports fishing.
Under Quebec's Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy, aquaculture is
one of the avenues fostered by the Quebec government to reach its
objective of increasing the province's aquatic biomass. |
